At 5:12 on June 27, 2022 local time in Qatar, the 800.15MW Photovoltaic Power Station Project in Qatar jointly developed and constructed by the Holding Company, PowerChina Guizhou Engineering Co., Ltd., Total, Marubeni and Qatar Hydropower Corporation was successfully connected to the grid for power generation.
Qatar 800.15MW Photovoltaic Power Generation Project is currently the third largest single photovoltaic power station in the world, the world's largest photovoltaic project using tracking systems and double-sided modules, and the first non fossil fuel power station in Qatar, which can meet 10% of the country's peak power demand. The project will help Qatar achieve the goal of "2030 National Vision" and provide clean energy for the "low carbon" commitment of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The project is located in the AlKharsaa area, the west of Doha, covering an area of about 10 square kilometers, and is composed of 108 photovoltaic arrays. The PV panels are 400W/445W bifacial modules, with a total of 1803240 pieces. After the project is put into operation, 26 million tons of carbon emissions will be reduced, which is conducive to the sustainable development of the local economy.
